Low DinsdaleA visit on foot or by car to Low Dinsdale is well worth while, as the 12th century red sandstone St John the Baptist Church surrounded by copper beeches is worthy of a postcard. Opposite stands a 16th century manor house built on the site of a moated Norman manor owned by the Siward family. They later changed their name to Surtees, and became well known throughout the north. |
