Hart

In this quiet village stands the mother church of Hartlepool – St Mary Magdalene’s Church with its varied examples of architecture. The nave is Saxon, the tower and font are Norman and the chancel is early 19th century.

On the outer wall of the White Hart Inn is a figurehead, said to have been a relic from the Rising Sun, which was shipwrecked off Hartlepool in 1861.
