WoolfardisworthyNaturally, you don’t pronounce Woolfardisworthy the way it looks. The correct pronunciation is Woolsery. The extraordinary name goes back to Saxon times when the land was owned by Wulfheard who established a worthig, or homestead, here.A mile or so north of the village, alongside the A39, is a family entertainment complex, the Milky Way Adventure Park. The park includes a huge indoor play area (for both children and adults) where you can test your archery and laser target shooting skills, a Pets Corner where children are encouraged to cuddle the animals, a Bird of Prey Centre, a Sheep Dog Training and Breeding Centre, Toddler Town - a safe play area for very young children - a Sports Hall, a miniature railway, and a Time Warp Adventure Zone. |
