Turnchapel

Enjoying views across Cattewater to Plymouth, the village of Turnchapel is strung along the waterside. The village was declared a Conservation Area in 1977 and, with its two pubs, church, and waterfront, is a pleasant place to wander around. From Mountbatten Peninsula grand vistas open up over to Plymouth Hoe and Drake’s Island. It was at RAF Mountbatten that Lawrence of Arabia served as a humble aircraftman for several years.
