North Bovey

In any discussion about which is the loveliest village in Devon, North Bovey has to be one of the leading contenders. Set beside the River Bovey, it is quite unspoiled, with thatched cottages grouped around the green, a 15th-century church and a delightful old inn, the Ring of Bells, which like many Devon hostelries was originally built, back in the 13th century, as a lodging house for the stonemasons building the church.
