Merrivale

Set 1000 feet above sea level the tiny hamlet of Merrivale provides wonderful views that on a clear day extend as far as the Eddystone lighthouse in Plymouth Sound, some 30 miles away. The main attraction here is the impressive prehistoric site of Merrivale Rows, a double row of standing stones about one metre apart, which may have been erected as long ago as 2500BC. They extend for some 850 feet.
