GalmptonThe major attraction here is Greenway, the home of Dame Agatha Christie for the last 30 years of her life. Her daughter now lives there and the house is currently not open to the public, but the lovely gardens overlooking the river are open Wednesday to Sunday inclusive, with gardener’s guided walks every Friday. Parts of the house itself are expected to open to the public in the summer of 2009. Also within the grounds is the Barn Gallery which mounts exhibitions of contemporary art by local artists. Parking is extremely limited but cruises and ferries are available from Dartmouth, Torquay and Brixham. |
