Dolton

Dolton clusters around its parish church of St Edmund’s which boasts a real treasure - a Saxon font more than 1000 years old. Its intricate carvings depict a fantastic menagerie of winged dragons and writhing serpents, with yet more dragons emerging from the upturned face of a man. Their relevance to the Christian message may be a little obscure but there’s no denying their powerful impact.
