Cobbaton

The hamlet of Cobbaton is home to the largest private collection of military vehicles and wartime memorabilia in the southwest. Owner Preston Isaac started the Cobbaton Combat Collection as a hobby but admits that “it got out of hand!” His schoolboy’s box of treasures has grown to comprise more than 60 World War Two military vehicles, including tanks and artillery, along with weapons and equipment from all over the world as well as thousands of smaller items. For visitors’ convenience, a NAAFI truck is on duty to provide snacks and drinks and the Quartermaster’s Stores offers a range of surplus uniforms, de-activated guns, militaria, books and souvenirs.
