Whaley

The Whaley Thorns Heritage Centre, situated in a disused school, tells the story of human activity in the area from the Stone Age to the present day. In particular there are displays illustrating the history of coal mining in this region of Derbyshire and, since the decline of the industry, the efforts that have been made to restore the area to its natural state.
