RisleyRisley consists of no more than a small group of old buildings, but they are unique and well worth a visit. Risley Hall is a gorgeous manor house dating back to the 15th century. However, nothing now remains of the original Risley Hall, home of the Willoughbys, except an Elizabethan gateway. The present one dates from the late 17th century. In 1593, Sir Michael Willoughby started to rebuild the Parish Church of All Saints. Although small, even by the standards of the day, it is charming and essentially Gothic in style. |
