Grindleford

Strung out for 2 miles along the River Derwent, Grindleford gets its name from the grindstones that were quarried from nearby Froggatt and Curbar Edges for many years.

Across from Padley Chapel is Brunt’s Barn, a conservation centre founded in 1981 in memory of Harry Brunt, a local man who helped found the Peak District National Park.
