FritchleyDuring the 19th and early 20th centuries, this quiet hamlet had an active body of Quakers, and a flourishing community survives today. The traditional ‘chapel’ design, brick-built Meeting House of 1897 is in the centre of the village. Here also can be seen the remains of a pre-Stephenson tramway that was built at the end of the 18th century to carry stone to the lime kilns at Bull Bridge. |
