DintingThe village is well served by the Dinting Railway Station, which is notable for the impressive Dinting Arches: a 120 feet viaduct built to carry the main Sheffield to Manchester railway line, which crosses the narrowest point of the valley, to the west of Glossop. Its graceful yet sturdy and even structure lends its name to a pale medium strength beer that is hugely popular in the county. The village church of the Holy Trinity was built in 1875 in Victorian gothic style and has a tall and elegant spire. |
