Patterdale

It is this village's magnificent setting that makes it such a popular tourist destination. Close to the head of Ullswater and with a series of fells framing the views, the scenery is indeed splendid. On the north side of the village is St Patick's Well, which was thought to have healing properties. The medieval chapel dedicated to the saint was rebuilt in the 1850s.
