St DayA Heritage Trail around this village and the adjoining Lanner and Carharrack takes in the historic sites which are all that remain from the time when, in the 19th century, St Day was known as the richest square mile in the world due to the number of copper and tin mines in the area. St Day is, therefore, a relatively unaltered, if not fossilised, example of a boom-time market centre. |
