St BrewardThe village of St Breward grew from the granite quarrying industry that left a legacy of sturdy granite cottages and small, granite-hedged fields. At Chapel Farm are the North Cornwall Tropical Bird & Small Animal Gardens. The gardens house a unique collection of tropical birds, while the paddocks and enclosures are home to tortoises, wallabies, mongoose, genets, agouti, guinea pigs, alpacas, meerkats and many other breeds. The entrance to the gardens is via a large pet shop, probably the largest supplier of aviary stock in Cornwall, birds of all shapes, sizes and colour. |
