Ruan Lanihorne

Situated on the old main coaching route from London to Penzance, this now quiet village is a bird lovers’ paradise as the creek is a haven for waders and waterfowl. St Rumon’s Parish Church dates mainly from the 14th century, and is dedicated to a saint who is also the patron saint of Tavistock in Devon. In Brittany he is known as St Ronan. He is said to have been a royal prince who lived the life of a hermit in Ireland until he was consecrated bishop.
