LanreathThe village of Lanreath has been awarded the ‘Best Kept Village’ accolade in Cornwall. Walking around this pretty village you can enjoy the old ‘cob cottages’ on Fore Street. They were built using material from the earth. Many originally would have sported a thatched roof. In 1620, the Punch Bowl Inn became the very first licensed public house in the Land, parts of the building date back even earlier. The building has served variously as a courthouse, coaching inn and smugglers den. |
