WettenhallWettenhall is a pretty little village surrounded by open countryside. Records show that it has enjoyed the amenity of a public house since 1651. The hostelry used to be called The Little John and was located on the very spot where The Little Man Inn now stands. The change of name came about in the 1800s when local licensees decided to pay tribute to a real life “little man”. Sammy Grice. Sammy, who was less than four feet tall, was much valued for his skill in providing the licensees with vent pegs and the butchers of Chester with skewers. |
