WoodhurstThe Raptor Foundation is a bird of prey rescue centre set in 20 acres of woodland and home to 300 birds of prey, mostly injured, orphaned or unwanted. There are flying demonstrations where you can witness some of these glorious birds in action, held daily at 12pm, 2pm and 4pm (there is an indoor flying area if the weather is bad). Attractions include regular falconry displays, a flower garden, tea room, art gallery, craft village and picnic area. It is open to the public everyday from 10am-5pm (dusk in winter). Nearby Somersham once had a palace for the Bishops of Ely, and its splendid Church of St John the Baptist would have done them proud. |
