Fordham

A small village on the Newmarket Cycle Way. The poet James Withers spent most of his life in Fordham and is buried in the churchyard; a stained-glass window in the church is inscribed in his memory.

During witch craft trials in 1590 two couples in Fordham were executed for suspected dealings in witchcraft – as well as one man in neighboring Aldham in 1598.
