Datchet

Just across the river from Windsor Castle’s Home Park, Datchet has a spacious green and some attractive riverside houses. The town featured in Shakespeare’s Merry Wives of Windsor when Falstaff, concealed in a laundry basket, is brought here for his “Datchet mead” – ie a ducking in the river.
