The museum is housed in 17th century farm buildings and is set in open countryside on the edge of a friendly market town. So why not step back in time and find out how life was lived in small fenland community.

Find out how your medicines would be prepared in our chemists shop and how your shoes would be repaired in our clothes shop. How would you have managed in the war? Would you have liked to wear a gas mask? Step inside some Victorian Rooms and find out how mothers would have managed without running water or electricity. What sort of job would your father have had? Perhaps he would have worked on a farm, cut peat or dug ditches. Would he have been a blacksmith or a thatcher?

Researching your Family History? The local family history archive includes: monumental inscriptions, photographs, census returns, maps, births, deaths, marriages, documents and land deeds. Microfiche readers and a photocopying service is available.
