In the Kings Parade for over 20 years, "Downstairs" in Nomads has long been one of the best-kept secrets for shoppers in Cambridge.

Every person who takes the trouble to look in this most unusual emporium, just across from Kings College Chapel (as seen here reflected in the window), is amazed at the enormous, rich tapestry of colour and design that greets them, as they enter into another world, reminiscent of the Kasbahs and Souks of North Africa, the Monasteries and Temples of India and Tibet, and the bazaars of Afghanistan, and Nepal!

The emphasis is silver jewellery, with an incredible collection of necklaces, rings, pendants, bracelets and earrings - traditional and contemporary styles - plus home furnishings; tribal kelims, rugs and bags, mirrorwork cushions, throws, exotic lanterns and lamp shades, Moroccan pottery, brass statues, and unusual artefacts personally collected on regular trips to Timbuktu and Kathmandu ~ including the now infamous "Tibetan singing bowls".

Nomads present a superb selection of scarves, stoles and shawls - silk, cotton, hand-woven, Angora, Pashmina, Jacquard, Paisley...you will be amazed at the variety, and at a price to suit every pocket. All this and a very warm atmospheric welcome awaits in this colourful and exotic treasure trove in the heart of Cambridge.
