The Tramway, built in 1895, is situated near the World Heritage Site of Saltaire, and the trams trundle up and down the quarter mile long narrow gauge tracks on Britain's oldest working cable tramway. They run up the wooded hillside, studded with glacial rocks, to enable visitors to reach the delights of Shipley Glen. The area is a popular visitor attraction, with pub, cafe, Countryside Centre, small souvenir shop and replica Edwardian shop which sells many nostalgic items. A museum displays photos and memorabilia of the tramway and the glen. Open most weekend afternoons throughout the year.
