Helmsley Walled Garden is a 5 acre walled garden built in 1758 and set beneath Helmsley Castle. The garden produced fruit and vegetables for Duncombe park until it fell into ruin. The garden fell derelict until 1994 when a charity was established to restore the garden and provide horticultural therapy. This is a plantsman's garden including 350 varities of Clematis, 52 Yorkshire apples and 34 Victorian vines as well as Victorian glasshouses, a Paeonia Garden, a dipping well, rainbow border etc. Open daily from April to October. Full wheelchair access.
