Looking very inviting with its pink-washed walls and colourful flower boxes and baskets, the Cross Inn is located in Penally, a charming seaside village just southwest of Tenby. Mine hosts at this friendly and popular free house are Les and Christine who took over here in 2002. Christine is the cook, together with Andrea, and she has made the inn famous for its good food. Her specialities include fresh fish dishes, lamb shanks and the splendid 3-course Sunday roast lunches. Such is their popularity it is essential to book on Sundays and highly advisable at other times. Customers can choose either from the extensive printed menu or from the daily specials board. Food is served from noon until 2.30pm, and from 6pm to 8.30pm, every day. Lovers of real ales will be happy at the Cross Inn as there are always three brews on tap - Brains Bitter, Old Speckled Hen and a guest ale. Children are welcome at the Cross Inn; all major credit cards are accepted.
