Devil's Bridge Falls

Devil's Bridge, Aberystwyth, Ceredigion SY23 3JW

Tel: 01970 890233

Take a walk along the Nature Trail and see the spectacular 300ft waterfalls and the view of the three bridges which span the breathtaking woodland gorge. The first bridge is reputed to have been built by the Devil but in reality it was built in the 11th century by the monks; the middle bridge was built in 1708, wider than the lower bridge, to take horse drawn vehicles; the top bridge was built in 1901 to cope with modern traffic.

Cross the humped bridge spanning over the Mynach river at the bottom of the waterfalls and begin to ascend the other side of the gorge. Go into Robbers Cave, an old hide-out place next to the waterfall. Alternatively, chose the easier, short walk to view the three bridges and the Devil's Punchbowl. Discover the legend, of how an old lady and her dog outwitted the Devil.

Allow at least half hour for the long walk, (but you can stay longer), 10 mins for the short walk and wear sensible shoes. Not suitable for elderly or disabled due to steps. Open all year.
