Dating back to 1795, the Castell Malgwyn Hotel is a classic Georgian mansion which was built by Sir Benjamin Hammet as his private residence. He loved it so much he declined the honour of becoming Lord Mayor of London so that he could remain at his beloved mansion house. He was fined £1000 for avoiding his duties!

Located in the beautiful Teifi valley, the hotel stands in an 8 acre estate that includes a beautiful driveway, glorious woodland and a stretch of private fishing on the Teifi, which is renowned for its sea trout and salmon. Guests can play on the croquet lawn made for Lily Gower (English Champion) or walk along the river bank through the gorge to Cilgerran Castle.

The hotel itself still retains much of its original Georgian charm and architectural features.

Guests can dine in "Lily's", the hotel's renowned restaurant, and savour the local and international first class cuisine prepared by the chef from fresh local produce. And, perhaps,

enjoy a fine wine from the carefully selected wine list. Afterwards, relax in the Lounge or Library Bar and enjoy the ambience before mounting the original Georgian staircase to one of the bedrooms each tastefully decorated in an individual style and all with a refurbished bathroom.
