Situated in the heart of Glyn Valley midway between Chirk Castle and Pystell Rhaeadr waterfalls is the Glyn Valley Country Inn, the perfect spot for a short break away in the countryside. With opportunities to arrange local activities from pony-trekking, to trout-fishing guest will not be short of things to do, and can relax each night in one of the inn's nine rooms which include family size, twins and doubles. Most of the rooms are en suite and come with a hearty breakfast in tow.

Guests can also come for dinner or drinks either in the elegant seventy-five seater restaurant where a regularly changing menu sports the best in fresh local produce including Ceiriog Trout. Known for its Swiss and seasonal dishes, the restaurant also serves up favourites like steamed salmon supreme and mature sirloin. Children and vegetarians are also well catered for. Owner and chef, Markus Imfeld, took over here in January 2009 but has put the place back on the map making it a beacon for good food in both mid Wales and Shropshire. All dishes come cooked fresh to order, and owing to popularity it's a good idea to book; especially at weekends.

The attractive wood panelled bar offers up to three real ales depending on season, alongside a range of other soft and alcoholic beverages with Sky Sports, a pool table and a darts board to entertain you. All major credit cards taken.
