Dating back to the 18th century, The Garvald Inn is a welcoming purpose-built hotel in a beautiful, rural setting. Located in the hidden village of Garvald, on the Hill Foots Trails, the family-run establishment is extremely popular with walkers and cyclists who frequent the area and it is open all year round. Owners, Peter and Elaine McQuade are friendly hosts and the multi fuel stove makes for a cosy bar area. Although there is a separate restaurant area, food can be enjoyed at one's leisure in the bar too. The bar area used to be a Drapers Store and its south facing beer garden is a real sun trap on brighter days. Many visitors to The Garvald Inn enjoy sitting outside the inn with a cold drink and something to eat.The menu has a lot to offer, serving mostly traditional food, including a lot of fish and game. All of the produce is of the highest quality and local produce is used where possible. Among the most popular dishes are the seafood platter and traditional Sunday lunches, as well as the numerous vegetarian options available. Closed all day on Mondays, as well as Sunday evenings. There is wheelchair access. |
