The ice cream it serves is made on the premise and hot and cold snacks can be enjoyed inside or taken away. The wooden floors add to the character of the café, which can seat 36 people and is often busy with people relaxing with a tea or coffee.

Located on the main thoroughfare, The Swallow Café is popular with locals and visitors to the area. It is close to the ferry and the town's many amenities. Many visitors to the area like to visit the historic site, where Dunoon Castle, which was built in the 11th century, used to stand.

Jenni Harrison and Tony Watkins have owned The Swallow Café since July 2009. Well known in the area, the child-friendly café is open seven days a week from 8am-6pm and during the winter months from 8am-4pm. Access for disabled customers is not a problem. No credit cards are taken.
