Chester Zoo is the UK's number one charity zoo, with over 7000 animals and 400 different species, including some of the most endangered species on the planet. With more than one million visitors every year, the zoo - a conservation charity - is an all-year round favourite attraction for kids of all ages!

There are so many things to see and do at Chester Zoo, such as the Elephants of the Asian Forest enclosure - a home for the Zoo's elephants. Delve into the sights and sounds of Assam, with the herd of ten Asian Elephants, Hornbills, Tree Shrews and rare fish. Come and see elephant calf, Raman, exploring his new surroundings and young giraffe 'Molly', together with the Zoo's many other young arrivals. Experience the largest free-flight bat zone in Europe, now home to the Livingstone's Fruit Bat - one of the world's largest bats. At your feet, red-tailed catfish swim with freshwater stingrays. Watch out too for the Turkish spiny mice and the Madagascan hissing cockroaches!

The 110-acre Zoo is open all year, except Christmas Day and Boxing Day, from 10am. Last entry and closing times vary with the seasons. Car parking is free. Restaurants, shops, monorail and summer time boat bus. Facilities for disabled visitors, including self-drive electric scooters and wheelchairs.
