Bowdens Bistro & Wine Bar opened in November 2010 in the ancient and historic village of Lymm, once again providing lovers of fine cuisine somewhere to eat out in the area. Situated at the heart of the village, close to the car park, the popular establishment is owned by Dave and Lyn Forshaw.Bowdens Bistro & Wine Bar has been a fantastic hit with locals and visitors since it was renamed and opened to the public in December 2010. The place has been totally refurbished and has gone from strength to strength largely due to the culinary skills and experience of Dave and Graham the chefs.A wonderful atmosphere has been created inside and in the evenings diners enjoy the intimate dining experience on offer here. Traditional chefs Dave and Graham offer a continually changing and varied menu and amongst many other talents they specialise in classic French sauces adding finesse to the dishes they serve. There are separate menus for lunchtimes and evenings. Starters on the a la carte menu include moules in a tomato & coriander sauce, whole baked camembert studded with organic garlic or chorizo with locally baked bread, and carpaccio of aged beef served with a rocket salad, Bowdens fabulous dressing and shavings of parmesan. Food is served 5pm - 9.30pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, 12pm - 9.30pm Wednesday - Saturday and 12pm - 5pm on Sunday. The food is absolutely divine and the ingredients are freshly prepared and sourced locally. Main dishes such as rump of Welsh lamb slow cooked in a port wine jus, fillet of beef stroganoff served with braised rice and a classic sauce finished with organic yoghurt & cream can be chosen from the extensive and varied menu. It is highly recommended that you book if you want a table on a Friday and Saturday evening here because of its popularity.Whether you are after a refreshing glass of wine, relaxing lunch or a three course evening meal, Bowdens Bistro & Wine Bar is definitely worth checking out. |
