A nostalgic reminder of transport bygones, the Lakeland Motor Museum has more than 100 vehicles on show ranging from pioneer vehicles of the early 1900s through to the exuberant models of the swinging 40s and fabulous 50s. As well as these classic cars, the Museum also houses a fascinating collection of "magnificent motorbikes, superb scooters, bygone bicycles and triumphant tractors!" Also amongst the 10,000 exhibits, probably the most extensive presentation of automobilia on display in the UK, are "Authentic automobilia, reminiscent rarities, micro cars and mechanical marvels". This unique and carefully maintained collection is housed in a quaint former Shire horse stable and its courtyard.

The recent recovery of Donald Campbell's Bluebird from the depths of Coniston Water gives an added interest to the Campbell Legend Bluebird Exhibition which pays tribute to Sir Malcolm Campbell and his son Donald who between them captured 21 world land and water speed records for Britain. Highlights of the exhibition include full size detailed replicas of the 1935 Bluebird car and the famous jet hydroplane, Bluebird K7. There's even a replica of Donald Campbell's lucky mascot, teddy bear Mr Whoppit, together with a continuous video detailing the lives, careers, failures and achievement of these two sporting celebrities. Other attractions include the Coach House Café and a gift shop.
