The sleepy town of Barrow-In-Furness surprisingly holds one of the best entertainment venues in Cumbria, popularly graced by many well known bands from all over the world. Situated on Dalton road at one end of the long pedestrian walkway sits The Kings Arms; a thriving live music pub offering good food and drink all at very reasonable prices. This place is certainly a place to stop to waken you from your tranquil Cumbrian day dream as the words `FUN PUB' emblazon the entrance to what is guaranteed to be a good night out.

Tenant Chris Bamber has been at The Kings Arms since December 2008, previously having a successful career promoting live music and other events. His expertise in this area ensures that every Friday and Saturday night there is quality live music playing late into the night. This traditional pub with a vibrant rocky injection into its décor is open until 1am from Sun-Wed, but stays open until 3am on Thurs/Fri/Sat, holding up to a staggering 250 people. But don't be put off if metal isn't your thing, there are also regular R&B nights and duke box nights where you say and the DJ plays, including a variety of quality bands from around the country.

It's also not just good music on offer here, Head Chef and Bar Manager Tony Scott-Wise who has been in the trade for 15 years ably assists Chris with a great value for money menu sampling a range of light snacks, baguettes, sandwiches, jacket potatoes and 2-4-1 offers on main meals which include a range of traditional pub cuisine like steak and ale pie, fish and chips, homemade lasagne or a range of authentic curries cooked to order by the chef, with a small selection of fine cuts of meat in dishes like lamb henry, or rump steak which are not on the 2-4-1 deal. There is also an impressive choice for vegetarians who can also take advantage of the 2-4-1 offer, a delectable dessert menu and a small children's menu. Food is served daily on Mon-Sat from 12-2:30pm. All dishes are cooked to order with local produce. A large choice of draughts, kegs, bitters, cider and stouts is also available, with Carling and John Smith's Smooth being the local favourites here. Chris and Tony ask that children be gone by 9pm, cash and cheque only.

If you are thirsty, hungry or just want to be entertained at a good price this is the ideal pub for you.
