Just a short walk from the centre of Ulverston, the popular birthplace of Stan Laurel, is the traditional pub Old Friends. The establishment is like a Tardis, from the front it looks fairly diminutive, however it opens out inside and there is a wonderful beer garden to the rear. Gemma and Roy are your gracious hosts; they took over the tenancy over a year ago and have made themselves right at home, providing great food, drink and service.

Roy is the capable cook and the menu consists of home made pub classics. The pub is open from 4 pm to 12 midnight Sundays to Thursdays and till 1 am on Friday and Saturday.
