For two years, Andrew and Lisa Turner have owned and personally run Hartley's Restaurant, a quality Mediterranean based establishment set in the heart of Dalton-in-Furness. The restaurant looks warm and inviting from the exterior, and the story is much the same inside, the stone floors, wooden furniture and bright décor helps create a taste of the Mediterranean in the heart of the Lake District.

Owner Andrew, is also the chef, and having been a chef for 25 years he has a very good idea of what creates a good menu. Delicious sounding examples of the extensive menu are baked fillet of salmon on a mushroom & tarragon risotto, roast rump of Lakeland lamb with hotpot potatoes and braised pork shoulder with citrus Bramley apples. There are also menus for special occasions; the Mother's Day menu offers a three course meal for just £13.50 and even the standard Sunday lunch menu is tantalising! The restaurant is open between 11.30 am and 2.30 pm and from 5 pm to late all week long, the place is very popular though, so reservations are recommended at all times to avoid disappointment.
