Dale Lodge Hotel has established itself as one of the very best hotels in the region, with a big reputation and a large following for both accommodation and food. The beautifully refurbished Georgian building dates back to 1840, standing in 3 acres of beautiful grounds. This stunning setting and scenery combined with quality service and hospitality make it a perfect base from which to explore the many local attractions, or simply relaxing and feeling the stress melt away. It's also an unbeatable venue for weddings or other celebrations, with 16 spectacular en suite bedrooms, each decorated in its own individual style. Four of the rooms are situated in the new Mews building, oozing luxury with their own hot tub and terrace, complete with in-room lounge, king size bed, and skylight which allows guests to gaze at the stars from the comfort of their bed.Owners Brian and Gillian Roberts, son Alex and Head Chef James Goodall have created an exciting selection of dishes for Tweedies Bar and the Lodge Restaurant. The food is a fusion of traditional pub fare and contemporary European cuisine, ranging from classics such as homemade steak and ale pie with golden puff pastry, seasonal vegetables and chunky chips, to hearty Cumbrian dishes with an expert twist like slow roasted crispy pork belly served with cider fondant potato, broccoli puree, caramelised apple, black pudding and a Dijon mustard sauce, or the cracked black pepper and honey duck breast, pressed confit thigh with sage and apricots served with potato galette, parsnip puree and buttered spinach in a Madeira sauce. A large range of stunning seafood dishes is available, complete with a children's menu and choice of appetisers which can be cooked to order as main meals if the fancy takes you. The sumptuous food, intimate setting and first class service create a special evening for all. The bar also offers a range of real ales catering for most tastes from Cornwall to Shetland and a fine range of traditional Cumbrian brews, with a distinguished wine cellar also offering wine of the month. Food is served from 12-3pm/6-9pm Mon-Sat and from 12-4pm/6:30-9pm on Sundays. This outstanding luxury hotel and eatery really does surpass even the highest of expectations, inviting guests to truly unwind, take in the scenery and indulge themselves in what has to be some of the finest food and drink in the Lake District. |
