Janet Browning and her lovely dog Maisie welcome visitors to Stone Close Tea Room and Bed and Breakfast, tucked away in the village of Dent in one of Cumbria's finest dales. The building started life in the 17th century as two separate cottages and retains many of the original features including beams, flagstones and cast iron ranges, which have fires lit during cold weather. A recent addition to the property is the treatment room, with stunning views across the Dale; this room is available to guests for quiet relaxation or for pre-booked treatments. The tea room is open from 12 noon to 5 pm, Tuesday to Thursday & weekends, as well as some fridays and bank holiday Mondays, for a selection of delicious, imaginative dishes based almost entirely on organic produce. The tea room is large enough to seat 30 people and features food cooked on site by Janet.Janet has three rooms for B & B guests, a twin on the ground floor and a twin and a double upstairs. The reasonable tariff includes a continental breakfast, or for just a small extra charge, a delicious full English can be catered for. |
