Dating back to the 17th century, The Church House Inn has a long history featuring monastic links and it even used to be a haunt of highwaymen! Found in the village of Torver, where the A593 meets the A5084, the picturesque property offers warm and comfortable rooms, good food and well kept ales. Mike and Mandy have been the proprietors for 3 years now and their experience shines through in this delightful inn, which also has a caravan park to the rear.

The five rooms available are all en suite and open for hire all year round, two of which are family sized. The reasonable rates include a fine breakfast in the mornings. Mike has been a chef for 30 years and he has crafted a great menu, genuinely home made with locally sourced ingredients and freshly prepared to order. Sumptuous examples of the menu include Cumberland Tattie hot pot, made with slow braised Herdwick Lamb from a local farm and the Church House fish pie which features cod, haddock, salmon and prawns.

Supporting the menu is the well stocked bar, which boasts five real ales, made up of mainly locally brewed beers. The inn is open all year round, except Monday and Tuesday lunchtimes during the winter months.
