Located in the original cellars and warehouses of 1785, The Rum Story tells the colourful tale of Whitehaven's involvement in a trade that attracted pirates, smugglers, slavers, gangsters and Nelson's navy. During your visit you will discover the origins of the dark slave trade, and hear rum tales of Blackbeard and piracy on the high seas. After your tour, enjoy a browse around the themed Gift Shop for a selection of really special souvenirs. Then relax in the Courtyard Café and sample a delicious home-made meal.
