Situated just a short walk or drive from the centre of charming town Dalton-In-Furness is the impressive Newton pub. Local couple Anne and Richard and their son Keir took over The Newton very recently, but they have already impressed those that visit as their extensive experience in the pub and restaurant trade serves them well. They ensure this spacious pub is well groomed and still has all of its character, welcoming everyone, children included.

Set just back from the road, The Newton has its own gated terrace from which is quite the sun trap in the summer months. They also have a large off road car park which will no doubt be filled right up when Richard begins the delicious sounding menu proposed to start later this year. Food will be available Saturday and Sunday lunchtimes and in the summer holidays bar meals will also be available. Richard has much experience as a Head Chef so it's expected that his mouth-watering menu will go down a treat.

The Newton also offers regular draught ales, with John Smiths Smooth, Fosters, Theakstons Mild and Guinness all available on tap, ensuring that almost all tastes are catered for. Anne and Richard also run a popular quiz on Friday nights from 8:45pm, and run a vibrant live music session every other Saturday from 8:30pm to get your musical juices flowing; ring for details. The Newton also has a large pool table and plenty of seating making it the ideal place for a relaxed night out with all the family.

It's only a short walk to the town centre as well so is a great place to stop for an afternoon drink before continuing to enjoy Dalton-In-Furness's offerings. Dalton originally dates back to the Bronze Age when it was populated by the celts, and much of the fascinating history of this ancient town can be found locally, amongst which is local beauty spot Furness Abbey, well worth a quick visit. No doubt Anne and Richard's local knowledge of this pleasant old town can point you in the right direction.
