Owned and well run by Karen and Rob, Green's Café and Bistro is a wonderful little eatery set in the heart of Grasmere, described by Wordsworth as `the loveliest spot that man hath ever found'.

This Bistro exudes a warm atmosphere making it a pleasant place to sit and eat.

The excellent menu is derived from the freshest of ingredients, sourced where possible from local suppliers and fair-trade and cooked to order. The menu proudly states that they will do their best to cater for those with special dietary needs, especially coeliacs, vegans and small children. They always have gluten free bread and cakes, a selection of gluten free hot meals and gluten free puddings, as well as dairy free and vegan cakes and hot meals. The menu is varied with five or six daily specials, hot meals, sandwiches, paninis and baked potatoes.

Green's bake all of their own cakes so they can tell you exactly what is in them. All their delicious cakes are available to take away as well as their puddings. Green's is open Friday to Wednesday from 9:45 to 5:30pm.
