One of the best attractions in the North of England, The Dock Museum takes you on a fascinating journey through the lives of the people who transformed what was a small farming village at the beginning of the 19th century into a major industrial town. Their story is a fascinating record of perseverance and good humour, of economic prosperity followed by years of depression, of peace, and of war. Explore the galleries and discover the entrepreneurs who dominate the town's story and how they had the vision to develop new industries. This a story told through exhibits and displays, including stunning original ship models. The Dock Museum offers a truly unique day for all the family.
