Open all day every day, The Derby Arms is the social hub of the picturesque village of Great Urswick which lies just off the A590 south of Ulverston. It's warm and homely appeal fully justifies local fondness, offering a range of real ales including Hartleys, Dizzy Blond, Unicorn and a seasonal rotating brewery guest ale to tempt your tastebuds, along with light snacks for lunch on Saturday and a wholesome roast on Sunday.

Experienced licencees Judith and Stephen Davidson also offer a choice of four gorgeous rooms across the road in The Stables bed and breakfast, with two twin and two double rooms, all with ensuite facilities, television, radio, hairdryer and hot drinks. It proves an ideal retreat for a weekend break, the surrounding area being a bird watching and fishing hotspot, with easy access to many top attractions in the Lakes & Furness Peninsula. Judith's fantastic cooking also ensures that a hearty breakfast awaits you on request including bacon, sausage, tomatoes, eggs, mushrooms, all locally sourced; served from 7-8am weekdays and 9-9.30am weekends.

The Derby Arms also hosts the local darts, pool and dominoes teams, and a quiz night is open to all, children included, from 8.30pm-9pm on Mondays, ensuring a visit here is a truly welcoming one. Cash and cheque only.
