Standing in the village of Brampton, off the main A66, a few miles north of Appleby is the traditional and charming New Inn Country Pub.

The building, which dates back to 1730 is absolutely wonderful, exuding its history and classic features. There are open fires in the bar and restaurant, flagstone floors, beamed ceilings and old artefacts adorning the walls. There is also a huge beer garden at the rear of the property, with its own beer bar, providing visitors with an enjoyable experience both inside and out.

Licensee's Gary and Robert Pallas, along with their parents Bob and Carol have now been here for 2 years and they offer a relaxing and friendly atmosphere, whilst also providing great food and drink, an ideal place to unwind and enjoy the surrounding areas.

The bar is open all day, everyday of the week and among the favourite tipples are the real ales from the local Tirril Brewery, including old faithful and red barn. Alongside this, the hosts prepare exceptional food, which is served from 12-9pm Monday to Saturday and 12-6pm on Sundays. Amongst the menu are spectacular dishes such as New Zealand greenlip mussels steamed in white wine, crispy bacon and black pudding tower, traditional mince and leek dumplings, steak and old faithful pie and beer battered haddock. As well as this there are medallions of venison, pair of duck legs and Thai king prawn curry from the à la carte menu. For those wishing to have a lighter bite, there is a selection of sandwiches with far from traditional fillings. The food is enjoyed widely here and is busy most of the time, with those wishing to enjoy a top quality meal, using local produce. It is recommended to book at weekends, in order to avoid disappointment.

The New Inn Country Pub also houses 3 guest bedrooms, including one double ensuite, a further double room and one twin that share a toilet and shower facilities. The comfortable rooms provide an ideal base to explore the surrounding area of Appleby. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated and minimalist, creating a relaxing and tranquil environment.

The tariff is between £25 and £30 a night, per room, with breakfast being a further £5.50 per head, which is served from 8am-10.30am.
