Set in the dramatic countryside of Hadrians Wall in a small village is the ever so popular and thriving business The Greenhead Hotel And Hostel. The hotel is wonderfully historic and has plenty of charm, enticing all who visit. Made of brick, the building is grand, with large doorways and windows, bringing in plenty of natural light and displaying the beautiful scenery.

The interior of the building is traditional, with a combination of exposed beams and brickwork as well as bright white walls, complimenting the traditional features. The newly refurbished bar is warm and welcoming, with a large hugh fire, perfect for winter nights and intimate atmosphere. Overall the façade and décor of the property is outstanding and finished to a very high standard.

Dave and Sue have been the licensees here since October 2008 and you would never believe that this is the couple's first venture into this type of business. Sue has been in the catering business for over 7 years, so naturally she is in charge of producing the lovely food, which is available daily between 12 and 8.30pm. There is a selection of meals available such as sirloin steak, whole tail Whitby scampi, butterfly chicken with Stilton sauce and creamy mushroom pasta. There is also a daily specials board, which is definitely worth looking out for. The local butcher is used, as well as local farms to source all the meat and produce that features in each meal, meaning that each dish is prepared with the finest ingredients and of the best quality.

The hotel here has 4 ensuite bedrooms, with 3 doubles and one twin, with slight variations available, such as an additional single bed. The rooms are tastefully decorated, with everything that you may require in order to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. The tariff is very reasonable at £33.50 per night, including a full English breakfast.

Located across the road in a former Methodist Church is the Greenhead Hostel. With 40 beds, split between 6 dormitories, 4 x 6 and 2 x 8, this accommodation is available throughout the year at a competitive rate and has facilities such as a common room, self-catering kitchen and showers.
