Scott's Fish Bar and Steakhouse Grill is located centrally in popular Penrith, in Burrowgate. Offering an array of chip shop classics, wonderful steaks and a few other mouth-watering dishes, this business is well known in the area as one of the best places to dine for fast food, with a difference.At Scott's fish bar all the food served is homemade daily, using only the finest and freshest local produce. There is a large range of fantastic fish dishes available as well as award winning Lakeland steaks, which are cooked to your liking. All the meats used in the dishes are sourced from within Cumbria and the fish is brought daily from North East Ports.Owner Dave Harding and his son Dan have been here since 2008 and have made this property one to put on the map. The father and son duo have previous experience in the trade and still run a chip shop in the town, linking the two businesses nicely. The premises offers something for everyone as not only is there the main restaurant, but adjacent there is also a takeaway, so you can enjoy the splendid food from the comfort of your own home.This very popular place to dine is open 7 days a week between 11.30am-2pm and 4.30pm-8pm, with extended hours on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays until 10pm. With seating for 54, the restaurant is of a good size and is licensed so you can enjoy a few beverages from the menu, lagers and beers, spirits and wines.The menu is vast with a lunchtime menu, served until 1.30pm, including dishes such as speciality fish cakes made with either smoked haddock, tuna and mozzarella, salmon and dill or Thai cod and mash. There is in addition a large array to choose from, something to tantalise the taste buds and satisfy even the fussiest of tastes. Seafood lasagne, crispy coated camembert and calamari rings are available to start, followed by wonderfully prepared fish dishes of poached salmon fillet, breaded plaice and a delicious crispy coated fish medley. There is also crispy chicken breast served with two sides, steaks, cooked to your liking and vegetarian meals of three-cheese and broccoli pasta bake. All meals are of a reasonable price, meaning that visitors return again and again. |
